Privileged User Access

Privileged users have access to perform many different functions to allow or rescind access to the DoE Network.

This Access is granted in 2 ways:

  1. Using AMU – for single site access only. See AMU - View Help guide for assistance.
  2. Logging a Service Desk Incident – for multiple site access and specialised administrator access.

Access granted using AMU

SMU Privileged access is granted and revoked using AMU - Access Management Utility for a staff member at their site only by Authorised staff for that site. See AMU - View Help guide for details.

SMU Authorisers using AMU:

  • Can assign staff to be Users of SMU application.
  • Must also be an AMU Authoriser to delegate SMU Authoriser access to other staff at their site.

SMU Users granted access via AMU can:

  • Reset Passwords for staff at their site.
  • Add and remove Casual staff access for their site.

Access granted via a Service Desk Incident

A Service Desk Incident needs to be logged to request the following access:

  • Reset DEC User IDs and passwords and view Password Sync reports – required by Service Desk staff, Account Administrators and relevant Support staff.
  • Multiple Schools application access – required by School staff employed at more than 1 school.
  • TAFE Regional application and support access – required by TAFE Service Desk staff and TAFE Account Administrators.
  • All State Office support access – required by ITD Field Services Account Administrators.
  • State-wide support access – required by ICT Service Desk staff and other privileged Support staff.
  • View SAP Employee IDs tab – required by all Service Desk staff, relevant IT Support teams, ITD Fields Services, TAFE Account Administrators and HR staff.
  • View (Teacher) Applicant Search – required by ICT Service Desk, relevant IT Support and HR staff.
  • Manage Non-Government staff access to SMART2 application – required by High Performance team.
  • Manage Community Language School Library (Henry Parks Equity Resource Centre) access – required by Community Language Schools Admin staff.
  • Manage Contractor, Guest staff and Guest student access to the DEC Network – required by DOIS Administrators, ie. Service Desk staff, Account Administrators, ITD Field Services and relevant Support teams.

Please Note – See individual Help pages on how to use all the above listed privileged functions.

Important

For AMU allocated access – Always remember to remove access to applications via AMU before staff member leaves your site.

For all other access – Always remember to log a Service Desk Incident to have access removed once staff member changes roles or leaves DoE or TAFE.
